Sharon's Blog

Please visit my blog for up to the minute (well, almost) happenings at Patchwork on Parade.   I'm trying to update my blog regularly with current projects and happenings in my life.  Call by to see what I'm working on, playing with or just S&Sing (Standing & Staring) at waiting for inspiration to strike!  Please leave a comment as I love reading them - http://patchworkonparade.blogspot.com

Quilters Dream 100% wool wadding (batting) will now be available from Patchwork on Parade.  The first shipment will be here late October early NNot available at this time
due to production issues in the USAovember so get in quick.    I absolutely love this wadding and this has been the impetus behind my desire to import this product.  The wadding is thick and luxurious, it gives a beautiful drape and loft to the quilt and has the added bonus of not bearding!  Other Quilters Dream products such as Request and Cotton will follow shortly. For further information or to place an order please send an email, details on "Contact Us" page; wholesale enquiries welcomed.

Customer Service

Excellent customer service is my top priority and I do everything I can to keep my clients happy.  There is often a waiting time to complete your quilt so book early!  Even if you haven't completed, or in some cases started, your quilt book it in for quilting.  I will call you a week before your quilt is scheduled to go on the machine, if you haven't finished your quilt don't worry another quilt will be moved up in the queue but you'll still have your quilt scheduled.  Pantograph, or all over quilting, has a much quicker turnaround than custom quilting.  I only schedule 2 custom quilts per month so book early for those "special occasion" quilts.  I can accommodate all your machine quilting needs and the opportunity is welcomed to transform your precious quilt tops into heirloom quilts.

Pickup & Delivery

I offer free pickup and delivery, just give me a call to arrange an appointment.  Pickups are done weekly; alternatively, you are welcome to come to the studio, once again just call to organise a time.   I also quilt for The Patchwork Apple and Hettie's Patch and regularly collect quilts from these shops.  Country and interstate clients are welcomed and free registered parcel post is offered to return your completed quilts.

Machines

All quilting is done on an A1 Longarm Quilting Machine and in 2008 I added an Intelliquilter to this machine.   This is a computerised system that has changed my life in oh! so many ways.  It has allowed greater flexibility in the way I work, added hundreds of design choices for you, the customer, and removed the physical burden of quilting!

Personal Development

I have travelled to America, attending the Machine Quilters Exposition in New Hampshire, for the past two years where I have learnt new methods and honed my machine quilting skills.  I have been able to learn new techniques, designs and trends which in turn have been applied to your quilts.  In April 2010, I will be returning to the US as a teacher, rather than a student, this is something I am very excited about!

History

Patchwork on Parade started out as a family enterprise run by myself, Sharon, and my daughter, Shontelle.  Since our business started, in 2006, Shontelle has married and had a beautiful daughter, Scarlett.  Shontelle is no longer involved in the machine quilting side of the business but has chosen pattern design and piecing as her path and is passionate about them.  Shontelle teaches at the workshops and retreats; check that section on this website for further information.  You can see Shontelle's designs and keep up with her by visiting her blog, http://sugarplumquilts.blogspot.com/
